Through participatory processes, we bring together youth, elders, and local residents to rediscover and share the identity of Mahanak—not just as a place, but as a living network of people and relationships. Using “ground mapping,” we focus on stories, connections, and lived experiences, turning knowledge transfer between generations into an active, shared process. This work is not only about creating outputs, but about building long-term relationships and a stronger sense of belonging.
We invite local youth to “play, learn, and create” as a way of understanding their neighborhood. We believe children learn best by stepping outside the classroom—walking through alleys, observing daily life, and listening to the stories around them. Through this process, they become both explorers and storytellers.
‘Mahanak Ally’ invites young people in the Mahanak to play, explore, and create together. We believe youth understand their home best when they step outside the classroom and learn by doing. In this project, they become both explorers and storytellers.
Classroom Mahanak Ally invites youth from Al-Islamiyah at Masjid Mahanak to come play, create, and explore faith through art—together. Open to ages 6–18, our Saturday sessions (13:30–15:00) are a space for curiosity, creativity, and connection.
